664 Confirmed cases of swine flu in the UK

The Department of Health has confirmed 29 new cases in England and the Scottish Government have also confirmed 43 new cases, bringing the UK total of confirmed cases to 664.

A Department of Health spokeswoman said: "The localised cases of swine flu found in the UK have, in the majority of cases, not been severe and we have not seen evidence of widespread community transmission."

The Health Protection Agency have said that there are still more than 500 cases currently under laboratory investigation in the UK.
