UK's first swine flu death in healthy patient

The first Briton to die of swine flu without any underlying health issues was admitted to Basildon Hospital in Essex on July 1st and was placed in isolation in the ICU.

A post-mortem examination is being carried out to determine the exact cause of death although doctors have already concluded that he died of the H1N1 virus.

There are now at least 10,000 confirmed cases of swine flu in the UK, however, the exact total isn't known as it is believed that some people may be treating themselves at home without contacting their GP.
