Children to be vaccinated first

Children aged 3-16, along with women who are more than 3 months pregnant, people with underlying health problems, health care workers and people over 65 will be vaccinated before Xmas in latest government plans.

There is still no confirmed date that the vaccination will be ready in the UK. Originally expected in August, the World Health Organisation have now said the vaccine won't be ready that soon.

Figures released on Thursday say that up to 1 in 8 people could have to take time off of work due to swine flu in the next few months. It is expected that up to 100,000 people could be infected by the H1N1 virus a day when swine flu reaches it's peak.
