Dairy foods could help children live longer
A recent study suggests that children who have eaten plenty of dairy foods while they were growing up can expect to live longer.
Three servings of dairy foods each day will provide a higher intake of calcium. A 200ml glass of milk, a small piece of cheese and a pot of yogurt can provide the calcium most people need each day.
Approximately 4,374 UK children from a 1930s study were traced 65 years later and it was found that those with higher dairy and calcium intakes as children had been protected against strokes and other causes of death.
